- CRAP!
- I wouldn`t change a `030 based A12oo/4ooo for ANY PeeCee even if it`s a
- P5/100...
-
- It`s simply a fact that a decent expanded A12oo, for example, (meaning
- about 4MB Fast, 030/40 or 50 MHz) has much more effective "working-power"
- than fast PCs.
- Achieving a (not at all nearly) similar Multitasking "Workbench" Requires a
- _VERY_ fast P5 with at least 16MB and some nice other stuff.
- Also, you have tu supply quite a nasty amount of HD Space for the OS and
- every program - compared to the AMiga and similar programs.
-
- A newer PeeCee is damn fast in maths, resulting in high computing power
- useful in some areas, but you see that it just NEEDS to be so fast because
- the CPU has to do most of the stuff the amiga and the Mac, for example,
- split up to their hardware components. This combined with a powerful OS (as
- both of them supply in 512KB/1M ROM plus some _few_ MBs on the HD) offers
- true Power for the real ambitioned user!
-
- Oh, yes, I used to own several PeeCees which I didn`t use for long :)
- I`m working with them daily (unfortunately :) ) and I handle them quite
- every day, too, as friends/relatives show up if problems occur or they have
- to expand their boxes again :) because a game want more power :).
- So, I guess I know what I`m talking about...
-
- We could compare the effective power with further examples...
